PHUKET (Thailand) – The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has urged local media organisations to develop smart partnerships to disseminate ‘fast and correct’ news globally.
He said cooperations between local and foreign media organisations would help one another to face the information technology challenges which turned social sites into conduits to spread questionable news.
“This is the main problem being faced by mainstream media worldwide to ensure news is delivered fast, accurate and correct,” he said when opening the 2016 (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand Growth Triangle) IMT-GT Media Symposium, yesterday.
He said IMT-GT was the best platform for the Malaysian media to develop close cooperations with the Thai and Indonesian media and obtain cross-boundary information.
“In order to achieve this aim, it is good that local media has direct information access to the media in the foreign country which can vouch on the validity of the information,” he added. – BERNAMA
