IPOH – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) will improve the quality of the Perak stadium, in line with the standard set by the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP).
Ipoh Mayor Datuk Zamri Man said the MBI was currently working on improvement works, particularly involving the process of installing sand, cultivation and fertilisation of grass at several areas in the field which was found to be unsatisfactory.
He said the field condition would be better after 10 days if the improvement works went smoothly.
“Our field condition is not too bad since various matches between Perak and PKNP FC teams were held at this field previously, which were broadcast live on television,” he told reporters after launching the ‘Ipoh Yang Bersih’ (Clean Ipoh) campaign here today.
Yesterday, FMLLP decided to temporarily close the Perak Stadium for improvement works.
Following a second check conducted yesterday by FMLLP competition officers, Perak and PKNP FC team representatives and the Perak Stadium management found the stadium field to be unsatisfactory and unusable as competition venue. – BERNAMA
