SHAH ALAM – Maxis Bhd is on track to spend over RM1 billion this year to modernise its network and fibre infrastructure.
Its chief technology officer, Morten Bangsgaard, said Maxis was continuouly working to upgrade its broadband coverage in line with current trends.
“We have the most extensive fibre connection to our sites, hence delivering highly reliable mobile broadband connectivity,” he said at a demonstration on its 4G Long-term Evolution (LTE) service.
He said the telecommunications service provider targeted to expand its coverage to more than half of the population in Malaysia by year-end with its extensive network.
Maxis started its 4G LTE since Jan 1, 2013 and has 1.5 million prepaid and postpaid users as to date. – BERNAMA
