BEAUFORT – Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili wants Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) to review the location of its substations so that they are not easily affected by floods.
He said the review was necessary because of increasing unpredictability of the weather conditions.
Ongkili said there had never been floods in some locations but this time around these places were also inundated.
“So, I urge SESB to do what Tenaga Nasional Berhad is doing – reviewing the location of its electricity substations.”
Ongkili was speaking to reporters after viewing the operations of the Lawa Gadong Water Treatment Plant which provides almost 100 per cent of the clean water supply to the Federal Territory of Labuan.
He hoped SESB would review the location of its substations as soon as the floods subside. – BERNAMA
