Mas Ermieyati Staying Out Of UMNO Polls

MELAKA – Puteri UMNO chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin has decided not contest any posts in UMNO’s elections.

The Masjid Tanah Member of Parliament said she wanted o make way for other leaders to bring forth total transformation of the party.

“As my tenure in leading Puteri UMNO will also end, I am handing over the leadership baton to other potential leaders.

“I also hope that more UMNO veteran leaders will give a chance to new faces to lead the party and the UMNO wings,” she said in a statement here today.

Mas Ermieyati said she currently wanted to focus on giving her services to the residents of Masjid Tanah who had given her the mandate to represent them.

Prior to this, UMNO vice-president, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is assuming the duties of party president, said branch-level elections would be held from May 19 to June 10, the election for UMNO wing heads on June 23, while the election for Supreme Council seats on June 30. – BERNAMA
