Mas Ermieyati Pledges To Ensure Sustainable Development In Masjid Tanah

MELAKA – Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin who will be defending the Masjid Tanah parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14) pledged to continue to ensure the sustainable development and prosperity of the people in the constituency.

She described her selection as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate as an appreciation not only for her as an individual but also to the Puteri movement as a whole which had been jointly implementing various development agenda in the Masjid Tanah parliamentary constituency over the past five years.

”With the opportunity given to me to defend the seat, I am prepared to ensure UMNO and BN excellent record in Melaka and in the Masjid Tanah parliamentary constituency so that all the development agenda that have been planned can be implemented.

”At the same time, I pledge to ensure the 14-thrust BN manifesto as well as the five-thrust Melaka BN manifesto can be understood and appreciated by all the people in the state as an important platform to make Malaysia a more secure and prosperous nation in the future,” she said.

She said this to reporters after the announcement of the Melaka BN candidates for GE14 here today which was announced by state BN chairman Datuk Seri Idris Haron.

Mas Ermieyati, 41, hoped that voters in the Masjid Tanah parliamentary constituency would make a wise and right decision in choosing representatives in the GE14 to continue enjoying the various developments and incentives that had been provided to them.

”There are a lot of development and infrastructure that have been developed in the Masjid Tanah parliamentary constituency and many more will be implemented…therefore the people should make a wise decision and not to be swayed by the empty promises of the opposition,” she said.

Meanwhile, BN’s new face for the Gadek state seat Datuk P.Panirchelvam, who is also Melaka MIC state secretary said despite being a first timer, he would do his best to win the heart of the people in the constituency.

Panirchelvam, 69, who has been serving MIC for 36 years, said he had also been an active member of the special committee for the Gadek state constituency since two years ago.

”I’m confident that I will be able to shoulder the trust given to the best of my ability with the help of other BN component machinery to ensure BN victory in the area.

”I will leverage my experience of being involved in the last eight general elections to face whatever challenges and possibilities throughout the election process,” said Panirchelvam, who is the senior technician of a telecommunications company.

The incumbent assemblyman for Gadek, who is also former MIC Melaka chairman Datuk M.S Mahadevan, was dropped as BN candidate for GE14. – BERNAMA
