Imagine you’re 35,000 feet above sea level, sitting next to  berserk passenger on a flight to UK’s Heathrow airport. What would you do? Well, leave it up to the World’s #3 Best Cabin Crew to remedy the situation.
On the MH2 flight from Kuala Lumpur to London, a male passenger suddenly went off the rails and disrupted the flight. Coincidently, the aircraft also carried the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
After several attempts by Johnson failed to calm the man down, the cabin crew on board the flight later took matter on their own hands and displayed an admirable professionalism.
The 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and of common assault.
According to Metro, the mayor’s official spokesman said: “The mayor, along with a number of other passengers and members of the cabin crew, did make several attempts to calm the gentleman concerned but to no avail.
“We understand the gentleman was restrained by the crew and detained by police on arrival at Heathrow.”
The mayor was on his way back to the UK following a high-profile six-day trip to the Far East promoting bilateral trade and investment.
Eileen Burbidge, one of Mr Johnson’s ambassadors on board the flight, tweeted: “So impressed with MH2 cabin crew (Kuala Lumpur-LHR); amazing professionalism/handling of passenger who was off his head.”
The MAS cabin crew’s politeness and courtesy paled in comparison with the other airlines’, and passengers notice the difference.
The stewards and stewardesses are a picture of calm confidence, ever helpful and engaging; it is no wonder that MAS has garnered numerous global awards. Just last year, it was voted Asia’s Leading Airline at the World Travel Awards 2013, beating 11 full-service carriers.
Earlier the same year, it won the Skytrax World Airline Awards for five-star airlines.MYNEWSHUB
