SEMPORNA – The Marine Police have arrested six Indonesian fishermen for violating the curfew in the waters off Sabah.
Sabah Marine Police Commander ACP Mohamad Madun said today the fishermen, one of them the skipper, were picked up in the waters of Siamil Island at 8.40pm on Wednesday based on a tip-off from the Malaysian Armed Forces personnel stationed at Post Siamil.
“The 50-year-old skipper failed to produce a curfew pass. He and two other fishermen also did not have valid travel documents,” he said in a statement today.
Mohamad said the police also seized the boat. – BERNAMA
