According to Margot Robbie, Harley Quinn’s hot pants may well have been digitally altered in the Suicide Squad adverts to make them less revealing.
Fans watching the film for the first time have noted you see a lot more of Margot’s bum than was shown in many of the same clips used in trailers.
The actress, who told The New York Times she felt ‘self-concious’ in the supervillain’s outfit, thinks it’s perfectly plausible the ‘very small’ knickers– let’s call a spade a spade – could have been stretched to reduce risk of offence in early promos.
When asked for comment, Margot told Smallzy Surgery: ‘I didn’t know about that…having been there on the day, they were very small but wow, I wonder if they did? That would be extensive Photoshopping to do.’
According to Margot, her evil alter-ego wears the red and blue shorts because they’re ‘sparkly and fun’ and not at all because they show off a great deal of bum.
But the actor has joked during an interview with Suicide Squad director David Ayer that she is ‘not wearing hot pants next time’.
It may not be a great incitement of the Warner Bros film that more bum was released from spandex at the last minute to bring more punters in – if that is, indeed, the case.
Audiences have slated everything from the tone to the dialogue to the story itself, but no one can quite pin down whether the film’s extensive reshoots are to blame.
