KUALA LUMPUR – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) centre-back, Marcos Antonio is hoping to help the club win as many titles as possible in the Malaysian League (M-League) upon his return from a lengthy lay-off due to an ankle-cruciate-ligament (ACL) injury, last season.
The 34-year-old Brazilian who headed in the winning goal for JDT in their 2-1 win over Kedah in the Charity Shield match last Saturday, revealed he was glad to get back into action after being sidelined for almost six months due to the injury.
“I’m very happy to score the winning goal especially after I have recovered from my injury and of course winning another cup for me and also JDT.
“I’m just happy because everybody know I’m working very hard for the last six months to prepare for this match and help this club to win another title,” he was quoted as saying in the short interview posted in JDT official Facebook page, Johor Southern Tigers.
Marcos is looking forward to help the Southern Tigers achieve the club’s target in the M-League especially to retain the Super League title they had won since 2014.
The hard-hitting Brazilian enjoyed a wonderful season since joining JDT in 2014, including winning the Super League title for the fourth straight season, AFC Cup (2015), FA Cup (2016) and also the Malaysia Cup, last season. – BERNAMA
