KUALA LUMPUR – The information and communications technology (ICT) centre at MARA Digital Mall has recorded sales of RM37.7 million as until January this year, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi said that since its set up in December 2015, the centre, which involved the participation of 89 entrepreneurs, had recorded about two million visitors.
“This is a great success for us, especially for Bumiputera digital entrepreneurs. The initiative has also helped increase the number of young entrepreneurs in the field,” he said during the oral question-and-answer session in the Parliament.
He said this in reply to a question from Budiman Mohd Zohdi (BN-Sungai Besar) who wanted to know the number of entrepreneurs operating at the centre and their business performance.
Alexander said there were currently four digital malls nationwide, namely at Menara Mara in Kuala Lumpur; Anggerik Mall in Shah Alam; in Ipoh and in Kuantan.
The ministry is planning to set up MARA Digital Malls in all states and has identified several locations for the purpose, he added. – BERNAMA
