TAIPING – A man with nine criminal and narcotic records died after being shot at Jalan Perusahaan 3, near the Aulong/Tmn Tekah Permai Giant supermarket, near here last night.
In a statement released here today, Taiping OCPD ACP Harrith Kam Abdullah said the victim, P.Mogan, 40, who was a dealer in scrap items, was believed to have been shot from close range.
He said that in the incident at about 8.45pm, the victim who was injured in the head, abdomen and right arm, managed to contact one of his workers for help.
“The worker and the victim’s younger brother had rushed to the scene and upon arrival, found the victim lying unconscious by the road side.
“The victim was then taken to Taiping Hospital and was pronounced dead while being treated,” he said.
Harrith Kam urged members of the public who witnessed the incident to provide information to the police to assist in the investigation. – BERNAMA
