SHAH ALAM – A man who was shot dead at a bus stop in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sri Serdang, Serdang near here on Thursday, was a member of 08 secret society.
Selangor police chief Datuk Pahlawan Mazlan Mansor said initial investigations showed the incident was linked to drug trafficking activities around Serdang involving the gang member.
“Investigations showed the victim and the suspected gunman were members of a secret society dealing in drug trafficking.
“However, it is still too early for us to conclude the real motive of the case…we will study from various aspects and the actual motive will only be known when an arrest is made after this,” he told reporters today.
Mazlan said after inspecting a general election drill in front of the High Court building in Shah Alam here.
Also present were Selangor police deputy chief, Datuk Ab. Rashid Ab. Wahab and Selangor CID chief, SAC Fadzil Ahmat.
In the incident at 5.45pm, one of the two men on a motorcycle was said to have fired several shots at the victim in his 40’s who was waiting in a car for his son to return from school.
On the drill, Mazlan said it was the second phase of drill at Selangor police contingent headquarters level for the coming 14th general election (GE14).
He said 16,000 officers and personnel would be placed at all districts in the state to ensure the election proceeded smoothly.
“With this staff strength, we are prepared for GE14 as well as to face any eventuality during the election,” he said. – BERNAMA
