KUALA KANGSAR – An Islamic grave stone maker and his daughter were killed in an accident at Km 63, Jalan Ipoh-Gerik in Liman Kati here at around 1pm today.
Kuala Kangsar police chief ACP Ghuzlan Salleh said Ahmad Tajudin Ishak, 51, died at the scene while his daughter Nurul Aunui, 12, at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh.
He said Ahmad Tajudin’s son Mohd Khalish, 12, and a friend Mohd Sohaimi Zakaria, 43, suffered non-life threatening injuries and had been admitted to the Hospital Kuala Kangsar.
He added that the accident happened when Ahmad Tajudin who was driving a Toyota Hiace in the direction of Lenggong tried to overtake another vehicle.
“However, a motorcycle suddenly came into his path and in trying to avoid it he lost control of his pick-up which as carrying grave stones,” he said.
In JOHOR BAHARU, Batu Pahat police chief ACP Din Ahmad said two people were killed in an accident involving two cars and a four-wheel drive at Batu 5, Jalan Yong Peng-Parit Sulong, near Batu Pahat at 10pm yesterday.
He said Zainal Sarbini, 53, from Parit Yaani and M. Ravinderan, 38, from Taman Kota, Yong Peng, who were driving the cars, died at the scene.
He added that the driver of the four-wheel drive, Mohd Fuad Mohd Hassan, 35, escpaed injury. – BERNAMA
