SEREMBAN: A 40-year-old man has been arrested following the death of his mentally challenged younger brother who succumbed to head injuries following an assault on Monday night.
Seremban OCPD ACP Muhammad Zaki Harun said the incident happened at the suspect’s Coral Heights home here at 11pm on Monday.
He said the suspect was upset with the 37-year-old victim who had also refused to go to his room after being told to do so, adding that the suspect got angry after his younger brother told him off.
“He then assaulted his brother and punched him several times in the head,” he said.
ACP Muhammad Zaki said that the victim went to his room to sleep and was found motionless at 8.30am on Tuesday morning when the suspect checked him and realized he was dead.
“The suspect then went to lodge a report and admitted that he had caused his brother’s death,” he said.
ACP Muhamad Zaki said a post-mortem done on the victim revealed that his death was due to blunt force trauma to the head.
He said that the suspect would be remanded tomorrow.
“We have classified the case under section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he said adding that the siblings were alone at home when the incident happened.
