KUALA LUMPUR – Malindo Air, in expanding its international network, will launch a four-times weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Phuket, Thailand, on Nov 10.
The airline said the Malindo Air flight OD 540 would depart from Kuala Lumpur at 2.45 pm and arrive in Phuket at 3.10 pm local time.
The return flight would depart Phuket at 3.55 pm and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 6.25 pm.
In a statement today, the airline said the route would be operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft which would have a capacity of 12 business class and 150 economy class seats.
The flights are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the airline was excited to continue with its expansion plan by introducing Phuket as the latest destination.
He said Phuket was a popular holiday spot for tourists from all over the world and a favourite among Malaysians.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport, he said would remain as an important gateway for connectivity to other destinations.
“This is another milestone for us. Our innovative services will only stimulate the tourism sector further for both inbound and outbound between these two tourist destinations,” he said.
Malaysia received 1.17 million visitors from Thailand so far this year and about 1.5 million Malaysians were recorded as visitors to Thailand, Chandran said.
The airline said bookings were now open for this new service, with the introductory promotional fares from Kuala Lumpur-Phuket starting from RM139 for the economy class and RM599 for the business class one-way fare, all inclusive.
The promotional fares would include free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment and light refreshments. – BERNAMA
