SONGKLA – A Malaysian man was arrested at the Immigration checkpoint in Danok, Sadao with 520kg of cannabis found hidden in his furniture-laden truck today.
Army 5th Infantry chief Col Paisan Nusang said the man admitted that he was paid RM1,000 by a Malaysian drug trafficker to drive the truck to Kuala Lumpur.
“Following inspection on the truck, the authorities found the drug packed in 29 packages, weighing a total of 520kg and worth about 15.6 million Baht (RM150,000),” he told reporters here.
He said the man also admitted that this was the third time he smuggled drugs into Malaysia.
