NILAI – Malaysian halal certification is among the best and is world-recognised, said Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the world now viewed Malaysia as a pioneer in the halal industry.
He said, recently, Brazil which wanted to market its meat to the Middle East was required to obtain halal certification from Malaysia.
“Thus, we need to maintain our level of professionalism and standard at the international level. As a pioneer in the international halal industry, the government needs to also continue in its efforts to apply the halal concept in all aspects and across industries, including pharmaceutical, cosmetics and the fashion industry.
“We should take pride in being a pioneer in the halal industry, but at the same time, we also need to become a game changer. The halal landscape also requires cooperation from all parties to achieve success,” he said in his speech during the presentation of Halal Executive certificates to 86 participants here today.
Also present were Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) director-general Tan Sri Othman Mustapha, its Halal Hub Division director Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) deputy vice-chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof Datuk Dr Roshada Hashim as well as QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd general manager for the Syariah and Halal Compliance Department, Mohd Roslan Mohd Saludin. – BERNAMA
