Malaysian Admitted To Liverpool Hospital, Sydney, Australia

PUTRAJAYA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to confirm that a Malaysian,
Salinah Binti Nordin, 41 years old, was admitted to Liverpool Hospital,
Sydney, Australia on 18 August 2016 as a result of infection with tuberculosis
(TB).

The High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra and Education Malaysia Australia
(EMA) in Sydney have paid several consular visits to her at the hospital. The
hospital has confirmed that the patient remained in a critical but stable
condition.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to assist and manage the welfare
of Salinah Binti Nordin and her family during this critical period together with
non-governmental organization (NGO) and other agencies including UMNO Welfare
Bureau.
