KUALA LUMPUR – The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has picked the Philippines as their next opponent for an international friendly match against the national team on Oct 11 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Initially, the national squad which is also known as ‘Harimau Malaya’ were slated to face the Jordan national team on the same date, but the match has been postponed to a later date since the latter has other commitments.
For the record, Malaysia under caretaker, Datuk Ong Kim Swee had played a goalless draw against ‘the Azkals’ on their first meeting at the Selayang Municipal Stadium on March 1, this year.
FAM Secretary-General Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin (pic) said, the friendly match was the best platform for the Philippines to experience playing at the Shah Alam Stadium, which offers better security and facilities for fans.
National head coach Dollah Salleh added that the match would be the best avenue for him to gauge his boys’ preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup football tournament that will be co-hosted by Singapore and Vietnam, next month.
Tickets for the match priced at RM 20 for adults and RM5 for the children below 12 years and sold online via www.tickethotline.com.my.
Tickets will also be sold at the Gate A counter on match day starting 3pm. – Bernama
