KUALA LUMPUR – Incheon Asian Games singles silver medallist Sin Li Jane partnered Syaidatul Afifah in the women’s doubles to give Malaysia its first gold medal in the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Major Cineplex Ratchayothin in Bangkok, yesterday.
According to the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) website www.abf-online.org, Li Jane and Syaidatul knocked down 2,773 pins to win the gold by beating South Korean pairs Jung Da Wun/Lee Young Seung (2,633 pinfall) and Jeon Eun Hee/Son Yun Hee (2,583 pinfall).
The success also propelled Li Jane to top the rest of the women in the All-event category with an accumulated total of 2,866 pinfalls from the singles and doubles.
Two other Malaysian pairs in the same competition – Hee Kar Yen/Dayang Khairuniza (2,475 pinfall) and Natasha Roslan/Radin Nur Najwa (2,338 pinfall) finished in 7th and 14th places.
The competition continues today with the trios event for both the men’s and women’s categories. – Bernama
