KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian women’s football team lose 0-2 to India in a class ‘A’ international friendly match at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium (MPS) tonight.
Substitute player Pyari Xava was the toast of India when she scored two goals in the second half to ensure a valuable win for the South Asian Confederation Cup champions.
Malaysia will face Singapore on August 9 as final preparation before opening their Kuala Lumpur SEA Games 2017 (KL2017) campaign on Aug 15 against the Philippines.
For the record, Malaysia’s best result was at the 1995 SEA Games in Chiangmai, Thailand when the team won the silver medal. – BERNAMA
