Malaysia Cup Roundup: T-Team Reserve Spot In M-Cup Quaterfinals

KUALA LUMPUR – Super League side T-Team are the latest to book a slot in the
Malaysia Cup quarterfinals after defeating Kedah 1-0 in their fifth Group A match
at the Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar, last night.

Maiga Abdoulaye Youssouf’s solitary goal in the 58th minute was enough for
them to accompany Kedah to the quarterfinals.

Kedah have already booked their spot in the quarterfinals after collecting
10 points from four matches.

Another match in Group A witnessed Sarawak and Johor Darul Ta’zim II (JDT
II) play to a 1-1 draw at Stadium Negeri in Kuching.

Sarawak midfielder Nur Shamie Iszuan Amin put his team ahead in the 14th
minute before Muhammad Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak equalised for JDT II in the
41st minute.

However, the race for quarterfinal slots in Group C became wide open the
group leaders Perak lost 1-2 to PKNS FC at the Shah Alam Stadium.

Shahrul Saad scored the opening goal for Perak in the 26th minute before
PKNS FC rose up in second half with Juan Manuel Cobelli and Matias Hadwa finding
the net in the 51st and 81st minutes.

Perak also had to play with 10 men after D. Kenny Pallraj was sent off for a
red card offence.

At the Larkin Stadium, FA Cup champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) beat Royal
Malaysia Police (PDRM) 4-1 with Mohd Amri Yahyah and Mohd Nazrin Nawi netting
braces for JDT. Mohd Amri’s goals came in the 23rd and 29th minutes while Mohd
Nazrin’s in the 53rd and 60th minutes

Guilherme de Paula scored the consolation goal for PDRM in added time of the
first half.
