SHAH ALAM – Acting Selangor Chief Coach, K. Gunalan wants the Red Giant players
to go for an early goal when facing Kedah in the final match of the Malaysia Cup
at the Shah Alam Stadium, tonight.
He said the early goal in the match was crucial to motivate the players to

the crucial goal, so we will beef up the midfield so that we can immediately
block the attacks by the Kedah players in our defence area,” he said at the
pre-match media conference at the Shah Alam Stadium, yesterday.
He said the Red Giants could also not concentrate too much on attacking in
the first minute but he was optimistic that if the players gave their best
performance, Selangor would definitely retain the trophy.
Meanwhile, Kedah Chief Coach, Tan Cheng Hoe said the young Red Eagle players
would not repeat their silly mistake when they were beaten 0-2 to the same team
in the final last year at the same venue.
“The young Kedah players are now more mature and experienced compared to
last year after gaining exposure from high quality matches in the Super League,”
