PUTRAJAYA – Malaysia strongly condemns the launch of four ballistic missiles by
the DPRK on 6 March 2017. DPRK has again manifested its rejection of calls by
the international community to cease its ballistic missile launches.
This action has fuelled regional tensions and again demonstrates the DPRK’s
disregard for the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula, the region and the
world in general.
The missile launches by the DPRK are flagrant violations of the multiple United
Nations Security Council resolutions and seriously undermines the global nuclear
disarmament and non-proliferation regime.
Malaysia urges the DPRK to end all ballistic missile launches and, of paramount
importance, to conform to all United Nations Security Council resolutions
concerning the DPRK.
