THE final round of the 2017 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship will serve as an affirmation of team PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor’s position as the top racing team in Malaysia and Asia. The finale, set to take place at the Dataran Bandar Penawar in Johor on November 18 and 19, will witness the team’s complete domination with a clean sweep of all the major titles in the CP150 and CP115 categories.
After a successful season in 2016, team PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor upped the ante when they came out with guns blazing at the start of the 2017 season. Pairing a talented team of young riders with a strong engineering crew, the team were able to achieve consecutive title wins. At the upcoming final round this weekend, Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin will lift his second premiere class title while young Mohd Akid Aziz will become the CP115 champion for the second time. Hand in hand with these achievements will come Team Award trophies in both categories for the team.
To cap off an amazing year, the team had previously been confirmed as the team champion in the Underbone 150 class of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. They could potentially add another rider’s title to their burgeoning cabinet at the beginning of December where Akid is in contention for the Underbone 150 title in the Asian arena.
This tradition of excellence from the Maju Motor camp has long been acknowledged by the Malaysian motorcycle racing community. Team Maju is known as one of the most prolific teams in the 24 years of Malaysian Cub Prix history. The team has won 22 major titles so far – both in the Malaysian Cub Prix and the Asia Road Racing Championship.
“Karma makes winning look so easy on track. But in reality, there has been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to reach this point. I would like to thank the many parties who have continued to believe in Maju Motor, especially our team partners Yamaha, technical partners like UMA Racing and Racing Boy, our sponsors PETRONAS and many others who have contributed to our development,” said Yong Ying Hoe. – Mynewshub.cc
