Speaking to reporters later, Jamil Khir said MAIWP contributed a total of RM5 million for distribution to all flood victims in the affected states.
He said the fund would be channeled to the flood victims through their respective state governments.
“It is hoped that the aid will be able to ease the burden of the flood victims. We in MAIWP call on the various groups to come forward to help the victims especially in view of the fact that the flood this time was most severe.
Meanwhile, Mohamad said the RM300,000 contribution would be placed in a natural disaster trust fund together with the other contributions to assist flood victims in the state. – BERNAMA
