SEPANG – Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) has asked Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) to reduce rental charges at the KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) to help Bumiputera traders there stay in business.
PUNB chairman Tan Sri Mohd Ali Rustam said MAHB should start with lower rental charges at KLIA2 premises before gradually increasing them.
“If major business premises could offer free rentals for three months to shopkeepers at the initial stage, why can’t MAHB?” he said after meeting Bumiputera Retail Organisation and Auto-Pro representatives at KLIA2 here today.
He was commenting on complaints raised by the associations on hefty rentals at KLIA2.
Ali said the review was important to help Bumiputera traders continue their operations at KLIA2 and remain competitive. – BERNAMA
