KUALA LUMPUR – The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) is allocating RM10.9 million as funding to help 94,391 poor and needy children in the state to prepare for school next year.
Selangor Islamic Religious Council chairman Datuk Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa said the education aid was for 1,545 kindergarten students, 43,668 primary and 49,178 secondary national school students.
“This contribution is proof that LZS has always been transparent in its collection and distribution of alms, and in ensuring that the poor in Selangor are taken care of,” he said when launching the Education Assistance Programme for 2017 School Session in Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor today.
Mohamad Adzib said the assistance was to cover school fees and other schooling items such as school uniforms and stationery. – BERNAMA
