KUALA LUMPUR – The low horizontal visibility of less than five kilometres over the waters off Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Pahang and Sarawak is expected to continue until Monday.
The Meteorological Department in a statement today said the same condition would occur in southern part of the Straits of Melaka and the waters off, Tioman, Bunguran, Kuching and Reef South.
This condition is dangerous to ships that are not equipped with navigational equipment, it said.
The statement added that strong southwesterly winds of 40-50 kmph with waves reaching to 3.5 metres occurring over the waters of Condore, Reef North, Layang-layang, Palawan and Sulu were expected to continue until Monday, and until Wednesday in Phuket waters.
The condition is dangerous to small crafts, recreational sea activities and sea sports.
