Police obtained another seven-day remand extension to detain a 25-year-old cook involved in slitting of a Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) undergraduate which led to her death recently.
The incident happened at Km228.2 of the North South Expressway near Bukit Gantang last week.
The remand order was issued by the deputy registrar of the lower court of Taiping, N. Mageswari.
Acting Taiping district police chief Superintendent Ismail Che Isa said police needed more time to wrap up its investigation before prosecution.
He said the case was investigated as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
