KUALA LUMPUR – Four men who reportedly got lost when scaling the Bukit Saga forest since late yesterday evening were found by a search and rescue (SAR) team this morning.
Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Hamzah Alias said the victims, aged between 20 and 22, from Cheras and Kampung Pandan, were found at 11.05am.
“The victims were found in safe condition after being lost in the forest for over 16 hours,” he said when contacted here today.
Hamzah said, after receiving a report on the loss of the victims around 7pm, a SAR operation team comprising more than 50 policemen, the Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defense Force, General Operations Force, and aided by volunteer firefighters of Kampung Sri Nanding as well as the locals was initiated.
He advised the public to be careful when doing climbing activities at Bukit Saga and Bukit Tabur following frequent cases of people getting lost in these areas.
“The people are also advised to study the tracks and the terrain before starting their climb…they need to avoid climbing during the rainy season as it is dangerous,” he added. – BERNAMA
