TELUK INTAN – A lorry driver was remanded for seven days today to facilitate police investigations into the murder of a 50-year-old man.
The headless body of K. Ganesan was found in a drain at Jalan Kampung Batu 4, Slim River at 2.10 am yesterday.
Police who detained the suspect aged 35 at his father’s house in Kampung Air Jada, Gerik, allegedly found a 0.8-metre long machete and a sling bag containing a 0.15-metre knife.
Police also recovered a dog food plastic bag containing a plastic trash bag with a human head believed to be the victim’s.
A Criminal Investigation Department team from Tanjung Malim and D9 personnel from Perak police contingent headquarters had earlier intercepted a container truck believed to have been used by the suspect, at the Rural Transformation Centre in Gopeng. – BERNAMA
