KUALA TERENGGANU – A lorry driver was remanded for four days from today to facilitate investigations into the case of an accident causing four victims to burn to death in a crash at Km386.6 of the East Coast Expressway 2 (ECE2), here.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Rozianti Mohamed Hanaphi for further investigations.
The result of the urine test on the 35-year-old driver, was negative.
In the incident which occurred at about 4.30pm yesterday four victims, including two children burnt to death and two others were injured after a car carrying a family of six caught fire after being hit by a cargo lorry.
During the incident, the victims were on their way from Kota Bharu to Muadzam Shah, Pahang to attend a convocation ceremony at Politeknik Muadzam Shah.
However, the lorry which was unloaded at the time, skidded before it smashed into the Kia Spectra vehicle which had stopped on the emergency lane as it faced some problems.- BERNAMA
