KUALA TERENGGANU – Those who throw rubbish around in Terengganu better beware as the state government has had enough of this.
Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said enforcement would be stepped up to nab litterbugs who will be slapped with hefty fines.
“We do not want to impose fines or collect public money, but if the habit of littering in public places does not stop we have no choice but to use harsher methods,” he told reporters at the Kuala Terengganu City Council’s Aidilfitri open house here yesterday.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Razif also announced that the state government intended to have two trucks for drain cleaning works using technology from Germany to ensure that the state’s drains are always clean. – BERNAMA
