CAMERON HIGHLANDS – The Tapah-Cameron Highlands road was reopened but only for light vehicles at 4.20 pm today.
Cameron Highlands police chief DSP Wan Zahari Wan Busu said heavy vehicles were not permitted to use the road for now for fear road vibrations due their weight could trigger landslides.
“Heavy vehicles can use the Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands road,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
He added that clearing work on landlides that occurred along the Tapah-Cameron Highlands road had been completed but structural reinforcing at several locations were still being carried out. – BERNAMA
