PORT DICKSON – Thirty-eight underprivileged children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Yatim dan Miskin Wawasan Port Dickson were last night feted at a special occasion organised by Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson.
The resort hotel’s assistant director of communications, Jini Sebastian said the children were also among the first to witness the lighting of the Christmas tree that was on display at the hotel grounds.
“The lush tree, at 78.7 feet in height and 29.5 feet in diameter, is adorned with 10,000 baubles and 69,000 LED (light-emitting diode) lights, made from galvanised steel.
“This Christmas tree took more than 400 man hours to assemble and it’s also the tallest Christmas tree replica in Port Dickson,” she told reporters, here.
Sebastian said the children also enjoyed the bountiful buffet specially prepared by the hotel’s culinary director, chef Ryan Poon.
The event ended with a mock cheque presentation to Pertubuhan Kanak-Kanak Yatim dan Miskin Wawasan Port Dickson chairman, T. Paul Jogatheesan by Lexis Hotel Group president, Mandy Chew Siok Cheng, as well as a small token in cash to each of the children. – BERNAMA
