SINGAPORE – Lewis Hamilton won the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix night race held at Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday.
This was the second victory for him in the 61-laps race in the Lion City, the first was in 2009.
With this victory, the 29-year-old Briton from Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team took the lead of World Drivers Championship after his team-mate Nico Rosberg was forced out of the race after 14 laps due to an electrical problem.
Infiniti Red Bull Sebastian Vettel, came second place while his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo took the third placing.
Hamilton clocked 2:0:4.795, followed by Vettel (2:0:18.329) and Ricciardo (2:0:19.068).
Hamilton now moves up to 241 points, three points ahead of Rosberg, with five remaining races to go. – Bernama
