A university lecturer posted on Facebook his search for a wife and was overwhelmed by the response after the status went viral.
Dr Mohd Ariff Ahmad Nazri, 32, who teaches at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, has temporarily deactivated the Facebook account due to the thousands of suitors who flooded his inbox.
In the Facebook post, which has been shared over 900 times and garnered over 1,500 likes, Mohd Ariff listed out the qualities he wants from his future wife.
He said the woman must have plans to pursue a PhD programme, be good in ironing clothes, independent and has great personality.
The bachelor explained that he did not mean to offend anyone by listing down the qualities he wants in a woman, but it was necessary for the other half to understand his job in the academic field.
Being the eldest in the family, his parents had often asked about his plans for marriage.
He did not expect the status to become viral as it was initially shared among his circle of friends.
“I have temporarily deactivated the Facebook account and shall wait for the situation to calm down before I make a choice,” he said.
