IPOH – Cleaning-up works on the remnants of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which leaked from a tanker at KM311 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS), northbound, was fully completed by 2.45am today.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department director, Yahya Madis said both sides of the expressway was opened to traffic at 3.50am today.
“Our Hazmat unit reported that the leakage was addressed without any problem and the vehicle involved has been sent to the R&R area at the Gopeng RTC for the time being,” he told Bernama when contacted.
He said his men would be monitoring the affected spot of the expressway.
In the incident yesterday, the department received a call at 8.55am on an LPG leakage from a tanker at KM311, following which both sides of the expressway around the affected area were closed to traffic. – BERNAMA
