KUALA LUMPUR – The foundation of leadership starts with a good attitude, purpose and priority in life, as well as willingness to face challenges and commitment, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan.
Low, who holds the portfolio of promoting governance and integrity, said the foundation must came from one’s self in order for a leader to transform, build, change and develop for a betterment of the future.
“A good leader too must have a high degree of trust, and to build trust, every one must first have his integrity, walk the talk, be accountable and not be a self-centered leader,” he said in his keynote address of ‘The Power of Leadership’ in conjunction with UCSI University Scholars’ Leadership Lecture Series and award presentation ceremony here, Saturday.
Also present were UCSI University vice chancellor Prof Datuk Khalid Yusoff and its chairman Datuk Mohd Karim Abdullah Omar.
Thus, Low hoped every one could developed the spirit of leadership not only for their success but also for the benefit of the country.
On the event, 10 individuals received Malaysia’s Top 10 Most Impactful Leaders’ awards, including the respective chief executive officers from Chatime Malaysia Bryan Loo, Jazz Tan (Youths Today) and Cheryl Yeoh (Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre).
The awards aim to recognise young Malaysians who have made an impact to the community, region and nation through their profession or contributions. – BERNAMA
