KOTA KINABALU- Datuk Ahmad Abdul Rahman has been appointed as Deputy State Assembly Speaker.
Ahmad, 68, who has over 30 years of legal experience in both Civil and Syariah laws, was sworn before the Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at Istana Negeri here on Thursday.
Ahmad, who hails from Kota Kinabalu, signed the letter of endorsement (watikah perlantikan) and this was witnessed by Kota Kinabalu High Court Judge Datuk Mairin @ Martin Idang.
The two previous deputy state speakers were Datuk Johnny Mositun and Datuk Johnson Tee.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau and state Youth and Sports Minister Frankie Poon.- The Star Online
