Following the death of Terengganu’s handball player Muhammad Naim Mat Nasir, 20, in an accident last year, his family received an incentive worth RM100,000 under the Terengganu Athlete Insurance Incentives scheme.
Naim’s father, Mat Nasir Majin, 58, said he will use a portion of the incentive to hold a Tahlil prayer for his late son Muhammad Naim in the near future.
He said Naim, who was supposed to play for Terengganu in Sukma 2015, died upon arrival at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital after involved in a crash.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman handed over the incentive cheque to Naim’s father at Wisma Darul Iman today.
“Beside the Tahlil prayer, the money will also be used to fulfil Naim’s wishes, to repair the family’s car,” he said adding that the money would ease the family’s burden.
“Muhammad Naim will always be remembered as a kind hearted person and an obedient son,” said the Felcra settler from Keruak, Hulu Besut.
Also at the event were State Secretary Datuk Othman Muda and State Youth and Sports committee chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat.-NST
