KUALA LUMPUR – A group of 279 Malaysian pilgrims left for the Holy Land today on the last haj flight KT64.
The pilgrims left from the Kelana Jaya Tabung Haji Complex, here and were scheduled to take off from the KL International Airport at 12.30pm and expected to arrive at 8.30pm local time.
According to Tabung Haji (TH) Board chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, who was also on the flight, with the departure of the last haj flight, a total of 22,320 Malaysian pilgrims or 100 per cent of the Malaysian quota for this year were now in the Holy Land.
Meanwhile, Abdul Azeez said TH would also implement the ‘Haji Badal’ for four Malaysian pilgrims who died in the Holy Land recently.
He said, so far all pilgrims who were now in the Holy Land were reported to be free from infection by any virus.
The first flight of Malaysian pilgrims began on Aug 27 comprising 450 pilgrims and the first return flight was expected to be on Oct 10. – BERNAMA
