KUANTAN – Sewing skills have become the medium for unity among people of all races at the Epal Handicraft Training Centre where the largest holdall bag in the world was created.
Marketing director of Mostwell Sdn Bhd which operates Epal, Eric C.H Chua said the bag was the product of the effort of 1,492 individuals of various background, with each person contributing two used shirts to be used as the main material for the bag.
Speaking to reporters here today, Chua said 31 government agencies, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations and schools helped in the making of the bag which took six months to be completed, beginning Dec 15, 2014.
The colourful bag was recognised as the largest holdall bag in the world on May 29 last year, and has been taken on a nationwide roadshow.
It is now being exhibited at the Kuantan Megamall for 10 days, beginning today. – BERNAMA
