KUALA LUMPUR – Finding adequate funds is the main obstacle faced by the Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) to mount the challenges in the Malaysia Football League (M-League) next year.
Kafa president Tan Sri Annuar Musa said this might result in Kelantan being incapable of competing with six other teams which said to have strong financial position in the M-League next season.
The six teams were Selangor, Felda United FC, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Pahang and Terengganu.
“I hope that on Nov 15, Kafa will elect its new executive committee line up among those who are capable of contributing and finding funds for Kafa. I also call on all Kelantan supporters to help find sponsorships for Kafa.
“Let’s do this together in our own way for our Klate,” Annuar said in his latest entry on Facebook today.
Prior to this, Annuar was reported as saying that unlike Kafa, which did not receive any specific allocation to face the new season of M-League, several local teams were lucky enough to receive funds of between RM8 million to RM10 million.
For the record, Kafa will hold its annual general meeting on Nov 15 to elect its new executive committee line up for the 2014-2018 term. – BERNAMA
