LABUAN – The Labuan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) sent to hospital today a crew of a Greek-registered oil tanker who suffered from appendicitis as the vessel was 200 nautical miles off Labuan.
The 44-year-old Romanian engineer was brought to the Labuan Hospital at about 6 am and is reported to be in stable condition, said Lt Commander (Maritime) Mohd Shahril Anuar Mohd Yusof.
He was with more than 10 crew on board the MV Maran Gemini en route to South Korea from the Gulf, he said.
Mohd Shahril Anuar said the Labuan MMEA sent its operation vessel, KM Ikhlas, with 26 crew and brought the engineer to the hospital. – BERNAMA
