Frances Bean Cobain shocked everyone — including her mother — when she secretly tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend.
Cobain, who is the famous daughter of late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain and Hole singer Courtney Love, got married to beau-of-five-years Isaiah Silva in an extremely small and unexpected wedding – and E! News reports she left her mom of the guest list.
“Courtney loves Isaiah, but was devastated to learn that Frances had gotten married without her knowing,” a source told E! News.
“Frances called her after but understands why she did it,” the source added. “Frances needs a man in her life and has always craved stability. She’s found it in Isaiah.”
Cobain, 23, had reportedly been planning the hush-hush wedding for more than a year. Only 13-15 guests were on-hand.
Even though Love wasn’t one of them, the insider tells E! that this hasn’t damaged her relationship with her daughter.
“This has not caused a rift between mom and daughter,” the source said. “Courtney was sad, but she’s cool and Isaiah is a great son-in-law.”
Silva, 30, is the lead singer for an alternative rock band called The Eeries.
Last month, Love shared a pair of photos on Instagram of herself with Kurt Cobain and their only daughter in honor of Frances Cobain’s birthday.
“My greatest love and our precious Bean,” she captioned the first photo. “#missyou #memories.”
She then appeared to reference Kurt Cobain’s alleged 1994 suicide in the second photo caption.
“Makes me feel so sad,” she said. “Our baby is all grown up now. Jesus Kurt look at her face, what on earth were you thinking..!?!? God I miss you, we all miss you.”
