KUANTAN – Kuantan FA manager Datuk Wan Solihi Wan Hassan is disappointed with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) over the suspension of the team’s chief coach Zulhamizan Zakaria.
He said Kuantan FA was very disappointed, as several appeals had been made to reduce the punishment against Zulhamizan, but were not entertained by FAM.
“The seven-month suspension on Zulhamizan is too long and we have submitted appeals for a reduction of the punishment.
“Unfortunately, until today, FAM has not given an answer and the Kuantan team is being victimised because we have to pay Zulhamizan’s salary although he is suspended.
“At the same time, we also cannot replace him with another coach since FAM has failed to give a quick decision on the appeals,” he said when met by reporters here yesterday.
Wan Solihi said he fervently hoped the crisis could be solved as soon as possible.
On March 30, FAM, via its Disciplinary Committee, had decided to suspend the Zulhamizan Zakaria for seven months.
This was following the actions of the coach who uttered harsh words and showed vulgar signs at the referee during the Premier League match against UiTM FC and FA Cup match against Perak.
In both the matches, the match referees ordered Zulhamizan to leave the substitutes’ bench after receiving complaints from the fourth assistant referees. – BERNAMA
