Kuala Lumpur is all set to host food lovers from around the world at the Big Kitchen Festival that’s going to happen from May 29 to 31.
Over 60 food counters are expected to feature at this event, with specials from top local and international chefs, Bernama reports.
Mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib believes that KL is the ideal location for such a show as it gears up to promote itself as the ‘melting pot’ of Southeast Asia.
“The food festival will serve delectable dishes ranging from street food right up to fine dining while highlighting Kuala Lumpur as the gastronomy heaven to foodies around the world,†he was quoted as saying.
With a single entry ticket, visitors will have the opportunity to attend all the cooking workshops and demonstrations, listen to the gastronomic talks and be entertained by the cultural performances.
Food items may be purchased using ‘Kupang’, which are specially designed tokens that will replace the need for cash at the festival. The “Kupangs†will be available in denominations of half Kupang, one Kupang and five Kupang and can be purchased at the ticketing booth near the main entrance to the festival venue.
